The Making of Lori Beth Brooke's Light of the Moon

Awhile back, Austin-based singer, songwriter, yodeler and accordionist Lori Beth Brooke asked me to help her record her second album Light of the Moon. I had previously produced her album Texas Star at the Sweetwater Studios, in Fort Wayne, Indiana back in 2020.

We began the process by listening to demos, exchanging ideas about arrangements, and figuring out the budget, timeline, musicians we would need, and where we wanted to record.

Lori Beth is a prolific songwriter, and we wanted to showcase all her talents, so we ended up planning a 15-song project.

The new record, Light of the Moon, includes a relatively wide range of musical styles, from polkas and western swing to country and both contemporary and classic western music.
