In our last installment, I briefly discussed the evolution of the modern DAW and highlighted two of the most popular DAWs, Avid Pro Tools and Apple Logic Pro. This month, I’ll begin with Ableton Live, then continue with a quick overview of many other DAWs available.
Please note that many DAWs below are offered in multiple-tiered, entry, mid and pro versions, each with differing feature sets and prices. Also, this list is not meant to cover every DAW available—apologies if I missed your favorite.
