Session Log - Bleed and Leakage with Lou Reed, Part 1

Two words instantly come to mind when recording a full band live on stage or in the studio––leakage and bleed. Lou Reed was one of those rockers who liked it loud. He didn’t like in-ears or headphones and wanted everyone in the same room, so there was always plenty of bleed to deal with!

This Session Log will be in two parts. Part one will focus on my time capturing Lou and his band on tour. The second part will come out in the September issue, where I will discuss my experiences mixing Lou.
