There’s an almost endless amount of information available these days on the art of mixing, much of it at an almost granular level. This includes specific frequencies to boost or cut if you want to, for example, sharpen the ‘point’ on a kick drum, remove ‘tubbiness’ from a snare, or specific compressor settings that work for ‘breathy’ female vocals.

That information might be helpful in a specific application, but it might not. The specifics depend on the instrument being played, the choice and placement of the microphone, and the style of music being mixed. Different styles of music require different approaches. Instead of being overly detailed, let’s step back and take the longest possible view. This way, you might find something usable for everything you mix.
