RECORDING Techniques - File Naming Conventions—Keep Your Sessions Organized

Be honest—admit it: your audio recording hard drive is a bit messy. Some folders are named for the song, some are named for the artist, some are named for the project, and some are simply a date. How many of them are something even less explicable?

Here’s my current approach to bringing some order to the chaos on my recording drive. Note that I will be using Pro Tools, so some terminology may vary on your DAW.
