How They Made Christone “Kingfish” Ingram’s Debut Record

When Christone Ingram set foot on the Troubadour stage in West Hollywood, an awestruck audience held their breath. For over two hours, the man they call “Kingfish” bared his soul in a way that would have made Prince hit the shed. As he fingered through an extended rendition of “Purple Rain”, or wandered out into the balcony seats where he played with his teeth, it was pretty obvious to everyone that some sort of history was being made. Now, the young guitar prodigy has geared up for what is sure to be one of the most important moments of his career: launching his debut record. With Grammy-winning producer Tom Hambridge at the helm, here’s how they took the boy out of the Delta, and put the Delta on Kingfish.
