Inside the Studio – Stereo to Immersive at Crossway Studio

The past few years have seen a growing demand for converting rooms from stereo to immersive audio formats, the most notable of which is Dolby Atmos.

Embracing the idea of creating music that’s not bound by the limitations of stereo is awesome. However, this mad dash to convert older stereo-based control rooms to an immersive format brings new considerations and concerns. Converting any space to a different format—speakers, amplifiers, conduit, updating the space’s acoustics and dealing with limitations that weren’t factors for stereo—can be challenging and expensive.
