Clipping for the Win — The Myriad Uses of Clipping

When digital audio first came around, we avoided clipping like the plague—after all, a digital clip isn’t like analog overload that creates pleasant, useful saturation. A digital clip in that sense is tantamount to shoving an ice pick in your ear (or tweeters).

But lo and behold, we’ve learned over the years that there are many ways to use clipping to our advantage, and digital clipping is now cool!
