AES 2018 Convention Report
For the second year running, the 145th AES Convention in New York City took place concurrently with the New York meeting of the National Association of Broadcasters, a midweek schedule that saw a lot of traffic from audio students and teachers as well as professional engineers. Hot trends at the show included the spread of networking technologies like Dante and AVB from live and install use into smaller studio applications, and an explosion of products aimed at content creators for podcasts and streaming audio/video.
Here’s a selection of what we saw on the show floor; as usual, we apologize for anyone we may have missed, and should note that a fair number of firms told us to keep our eyes open for new releases at NAMM in late January. Here we go!—MM
