A Family of Microphones Combined: The Shure Unidyne... or, The SM57 & Friends

Typically, in our A Family of… Compared series, we look at specific product lines of mics and headphones. This month, we are expanding our focus to look at one of the most ubiquitous microphones of all time, the Shure SM57, along with its ancestors, offshoots, and close cousins in the SM, Beta, Unidyne and KSM lines. As with all of our A Family of… roundups, each mic represented here, despite some of them being available for well over 50 years, is still currently in production and available brand new.*
