Talking Atmos with Richard Chycki

Richard Chycki is a Canadian-born audio engineer with a resume that ranges from Rush, Pink, Aerosmith, Dream Theater, Seal, Mick Jagger, Triumph, Alice Cooper, Def Leppard, Jeff Healey, Skillet and many more. Richard is also a pioneer in the world of immersive audio, crafting 5.1 mixes in the early 2000s and he is all in on the current world of Atmos. I had the pleasure of meeting Richard and hearing some of his Dolby Atmos mixes at the 2024 NAMM Show and during my recent trip to Genelec (see page 16). Richard was kind enough to sit down and share his wisdom gained from decades of work in immersive audio.
