Studio 101 – Intro to Preamps

Welcome to 2024! This year, Studio 101 will focus on the basics of signal processing and signal processors. We’ll look at a different type of processing each month, analog and digital, including EQ, compression/expansion, delay/modulation, reverb, distortion, and purely digital processing like time/pitch shifting, audio repair, FX modeling and more. To start things off, this month we go to the beginning of the signal chain with a look at preamplifiers (preamps).
