RECORDING Techniques – Producing Drums

Despite this issue’s focus on monitors and monitoring, we are going to continue my look at drum production from our January issue. This time, rather than focusing on how to record drums, I want to help engineers support drummers as they work with the rhythm section to serve both the session and the song.

The goal is to make the recording feel solid while supporting the lyrics and the singer.
