“Sensible Shoes”—that’s how I describe a good mix monitor. I see them as being practical, nothing fancy, more functional than fun. Like shoes, however, when it comes to choosing monitors, every engineer prefers a slightly different fit. Also like shoes, you actually need to try them on before you know how well they fit you—even if the box claims it is exactly your size.
