Microphones are everywhere these days. Quick survey: How many of us have had a voice assistant answer us out of the blue? This reminds us that microphones are everywhere. My new watch has three microphones, as does my phone. My car has two that I know of, and even my doorbell has a microphone! If you consider noise-cancelling microphones, we have gone full meta because now even the microphones have microphones!

And they are always listening.

But listening is so “last month.” This month, the focus is on recording instruments, which, much of the time, involves microphones.
