Drums have a lot of moving parts, and for those of us who don’t play drums, this can make it challenging when it comes time to record them. Above all, a good drum recording always, always, always starts with a good performance! This month, I will focus on making sense of the groupings of sounds useful in a drum mix and, hence, will help you capture a good drum recording of a hopefully good performance.
