Inside the Studio - Recording Carl Verheyen’s Riverboat Sky

As readers of my column probably know, Carl Verheyen is one of my favorite guitar players. There’s really no sound he can’t craft or style he can’t play, which makes recording with him a lot of fun. In the studio, we have a blast tweaking, creating, chasing tone, telling stories, drinking cappuccinos and making music. This past January, we began tracking his 17th solo album Riverboat Sky, with a who’s who of Los Angeles session players and friends from around the country. We tracked the band at two of the most famous recording studios in Los Angeles: The Village Studios and Sunset Sound.
