Immersive Conversations with DICKIE

Headful of Hiss is the latest EP from Midwest alt-folk artist DICKIE, aka Dick Prall. This latest record features lush layers of strings, jangly pop-acoustic guitar, thick yet understated drums and percussion, along with a subtle supporting cast of vibey electric guitar and classic keys, all serving to underpin Dickie’s beautifully melancholic lead and atmospheric backing vocals.

I first met Dick (best known as Dickie), as well as engineer Phil Young, who crafted the Atmos mix last year at a recording workshop at Trilix Studio in Des Moines, IA. It was great to catch up with new old friends over a some libations to dig into this latest project.
