Guitar Tones in the Studio
The quest for the ultimate tone is never-ending
Everyone knows guitar players are some of the most finicky people when it comes to their “sound.” Whenever I am working with a guitarist in the studio, I tell them that while I do have amps available for them, if they have their sound dialed in, they should bring their own amp, pedals and guitar. The last thing I want to see is an unhappy guitarist who will inevitably blame anything that goes wrong on the fact that they couldn’t get their “sound.”
Luckily, most seasoned session cats I work with usually bring everything they need and more with some impressive and versatile rigs. This goes way beyond just having a tuner with you!
