Considering a Guitar-Based Studio
Recording guitars in a home studio can be a complicated (and loud) task. Tube amps need to be pushed into their sweet spots to sound their best, and with speaker cabinets moving lots of air, room acoustics become a larger consideration—and that’s not to mention the daunting gear list you’ll need to capture the sound cleanly. Luckily, there are plenty of viable options to help guitar-based home studios capture professional-sounding recordings without breaking the bank (or upsetting the neighbors for cranking your Marshall). It just takes a bit of planning to have something catered to your needs as a musician—you might already be closer than you think!
