Jonathan Wilson is a recording artist, engineer, producer, and owner of Fivestar Studios in Los Angeles. His production credits include albums by Dawes, Father John Misty, Conor Oberst, and Roy Harper, and he’s played with everyone from Roger Waters and Elvis Costello to Erykah Badu and Karen Elson.

His new solo album, Rare Birds, carries on some of the musical themes of previous solo outings like 2013’s Fanfare, while breaking new ground in sound choices and styles. It’s a fantastic ride from 1960s psychedelia to more modern elements; there’s a lot going on, and a lot to learn from.
