Most RECORDING readers know the name, Sweetwater. Many of us have heard the story. Founded by a guy named Chuck Surack in the back of a Volkswagen bus in the 70s, reengineered the Kurzweil K250 in the 80s, and so on… Today Sweetwater is headquartered in Fort Wayne, IN and is the largest online musical instrument retailer in North America. 

But who is Chuck Surack? Where did he (and Sweetwater) come from?
