Musician, songwriter, producer and audio engineer Steven Wilson has released more than 47 studio albums in his 37+ year career. His genre-defying solo, band and collaborative projects include Porcupine Tree, I.E.M., No-Man, Blackfield, Bass Communion and Storm Corrosion. His works explore prog rock, Britpop, ambient, electronica, heavy metal and beyond—often on the same album. This is especially true of his just-released seventh solo effort, The Harmony Codex.

He is also a first-call remix engineer crafting new stereo, 5.1 and now Dolby Atmos mixes of  a broad range of artists including ABC, CHIC, Sister Sledge, Jethro Tull, XTC, Yes, King Crimson, Caravan, Marillion, Rick Wright (of Pink Floyd) and recently the classic album, Who’s Next by the Who.

We interviewed Steven in April 2021 for the release of The Future Bites, and we were fortunate to sit down with him again recently to discuss The Harmony Codex and his remix work with a focus on spatial audio.
