Released in 1985, the EP Walk Together, Rock Together by 7 Seconds is one of THE seminal musical statements in the 1980s American hardcore scene. Formed in 1980 in Reno, Nevada, 7 Seconds centers around brothers Kevin Seconds (vocals) and Steve Youth (bass). Walk Together, Rock Together is the perfect blend of youthful aggression, melodic riffs, tasteful cowbell breaks, astute lyrics and trademark “woah, oh, oh, ooh” backing vocals.

At the time, the band also included drummer Troy Mowat and guitarist Dan Pozniak. The EP was recorded at the iconic Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, Virginia, by Don Zientara (Minor Threat, Government Issue, Scream, Dag Nasty, Jawbox, Fugazi and Bad Brains) and produced by musician, producer, engineer and Dischord Records co-owner Ian MacKaye (Teen Idles, Minor Threat, Fugazi, The Evens and Coriky).

Trust Records lovingly re-released this classic EP on vinyl and streaming.

In 1985 when I was a 16-year-old singer in a hardcore band, 7 Seconds was one of my favorite bands, and to this day, Walk Together, Rock Together is one of the records I remember the best. Sitting down with Kevin Seconds, Ian MacKaye and Don Zientara to discuss this album was an honor.
